Terms and Conditions of Use and Sale - Central Press Desk
Version dated 13 September 2026
Preamble
These general terms of use and sale (the “Terms”) govern access to the site centralpressdesk.com, its subdomains, including app.centralpressdesk.com, as well as the services operated under the Central Press Desk brand (together, the “Platform”).
The Platform notably enables companies and other professional organisations to submit, have reviewed or drafted, publish and distribute press releases to targeted journalists and media, as well as to track certain coverage. It also offers journalists features and information suited to their activity.
Any use of the Platform implies acceptance of these Terms. Any order requires express acceptance of them by means of the checkbox provided for that purpose before payment.
1. Publisher and contact
The Platform is published by LEGIVAL LTD, a private limited company governed by Cypriot law, with its registered office in Limassol, Cyprus (hereinafter “Central Press Desk”).
For any contact: contact
Accepted communication languages: French and English.
2. Definitions
In these Terms:
- Client means any natural person or legal entity acting for professional purposes who orders a Service
- Account means the personal space created on the Platform
- Content means any press release, text, title, illustration, photograph, video, file, link, data, trademark or other element transmitted by a User
- Distribution means the sending or making available of a Press Release to journalists, media, feeds, partners or publication spaces selected or relevant
- Journalist means any media professional using the services intended for them
- Services means the services offered by Central Press Desk, including distribution, newsroom publication, media targeting, proofreading, writing and media coverage monitoring
- User means any person accessing the Platform, whether a Client, a Client representative or a Journalist.
3. Scope - service reserved for professionals
Paid Services are exclusively intended for persons acting in the course of their professional, commercial, industrial, craft, liberal, association or institutional activities.
By creating an Account or placing an order, the Client declares:
1. to act for professional purposes and not as a consumer
2. to have the capacity and, where applicable, the necessary authority to bind the organisation indicated when placing the order
3. to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information
4. to accept these Terms without reservation.
Central Press Desk may request any supporting document useful regarding the User’s identity, the existence of the organisation, its mandate or its link with the entity on whose behalf the Press Release is to be distributed.
4. Account creation and security
The User must keep their login credentials confidential and prevent any unauthorised access to their Account. The User is responsible for operations carried out using their Account, unless they prove that these result from a breach attributable to Central Press Desk.
The User must promptly inform Central Press Desk of any loss, disclosure or unauthorised use of their login credentials. Central Press Desk may temporarily suspend an Account where a security breach is suspected.
An Account is personal to the designated User. Use by several employees of the same organisation is authorised only if the subscribed package allows it and under the Client’s responsibility.
5. Description of the Services
5.1 Professional distribution
Subject to the validation provided for in Article 7, the distribution service includes:
- publication of the Press Release in the Central Press Desk newsroom
- its targeting in up to three media categories, unless otherwise offered
- its transmission to journalists and editorial teams identified by Central Press Desk systems according to their fields, preferences and receipt methods
- access to the tracking information included in the offer displayed when ordering.
The composition of contact databases, delivery methods and technical channels may evolve in order to preserve the relevance, deliverability and security of the Service.
5.2 Proofreading
Proofreading consists of editorial review and reasonable suggestions for improving the clarity, structure, spelling and presentation of the Press Release. It does not include exhaustive legal, regulatory or factual verification.
The Client remains solely responsible for the truthfulness, lawfulness and accuracy of all information published.
5.3 Full writing
Full writing is carried out on the basis of the information and documents provided by the Client. It includes 1 draft and 3 reasonable rounds of corrections, unless otherwise specified in particular conditions.
The Client must expressly check and approve the final version before any Distribution. Such approval constitutes confirmation of the accuracy of the facts, quotations, figures, dates, titles, rights and contact details appearing in the Press Release.
5.4 Monitoring and tracking
The monitoring, media coverage tracking or response observation results produced by artificial intelligence systems are based on determined sources, queries and tools. They constitute documented indicators, but not an exhaustive measure of all publications, mentions, audiences or responses visible to third parties.
6. Order and formation of the contract
The Client selects the offer and any options, enters the information required for billing, checks the summary, accepts these Terms and the privacy policy, then proceeds to payment.
Before validation, the Client may check the details and total price of their order and correct any errors.
The contract is formed when payment is authorised and Central Press Desk sends the Client an electronic confirmation. This confirmation summarises the order or allows access to it from the Account.
Central Press Desk reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order in the event of suspected fraud, a payment incident, manifestly inaccurate information, a conflict of interest, applicable economic sanctions or a request contrary to these Terms. The financial consequences of a refusal are governed by Article 10.
7. Submission, review and editorial validation
After order confirmation, the Client creates or completes their Account, submits their Press Release and chooses the media categories offered.
Each Press Release is subject to a review concerning in particular:
- the identity and capacity of the sender
- its authorization to communicate for the organization concerned
- consistency between the Press Release, the sender and the requested targeting
- compliance with these Terms and applicable rules
- the presence of the information necessary for professional distribution.
Editorial decision is made by a member of the Central Press Desk team. Automated tools may be used to detect malicious files, spam, inconsistencies or other risks, but no final decision to reject or remove is made solely by an automated process.
Central Press Desk may request supporting documents, corrections or clarifications. Processing time begins only upon receipt of a complete and usable file.
The timeframe indicated on the website or when ordering is an estimate. Unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing, Central Press Desk does not guarantee a specific Distribution time. The Client must indicate any embargo or scheduling requirement before placing the order. No embargo is guaranteed without written acceptance from Central Press Desk.
8. Prohibited or Restricted Content
It is prohibited to submit, publish or have distributed any Content that :
- is unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, insulting, threatening, discriminatory, hateful or offensive to a person's dignity
- infringes intellectual property rights, image rights, trade secrets, a confidentiality obligation or a third party's privacy
- contains personal data without a lawful basis or without appropriate information being provided to the data subjects
- impersonates a person or falsely presents the User as an authorized representative of an organization
- contains factual, scientific, medical, environmental, financial or comparative claims that the Client is unable to substantiate
- constitutes market manipulation, unlawful financial solicitation or promotion contrary to the rules applicable to regulated products or services
- promotes products, services or activities prohibited in the territories targeted
- contains malicious software, an unauthorized tracking device or a dangerous link
- is not reasonably related to corporate news or presents advertising as journalistic information in a misleading manner
- seeks to harass journalists, bypass their delivery preferences or send unsolicited communications outside the Service
Central Press Desk may refuse, suspend, remove, unpublish or limit the visibility of Content when it reasonably considers that such Content breaches these Terms, any applicable rule or the editorial and security requirements of the Service. To the extent required by law, Central Press Desk informs the Client of the reasons for its decision and the available means of challenge.
9. Client commitments and liability
The Client warrants:
1. that the Press Release is accurate, fair, sufficiently substantiated and up to date on the date of its Distribution
2. that it has all the necessary rights, authorizations, licenses, mandates and consents
3. that quotations have been approved by the persons to whom they are attributed
4. that visual elements and brands may be reproduced and distributed within the framework of the Service
5. that the Press Release complies with the applicable rules in the targeted territories, in particular those relating to advertising, financial markets, health, competition, sanctions and data protection
6. that it will respond promptly to verification requests from Central Press Desk
The Client retains the documents enabling the statements in the Press Release to be substantiated and provides them to Central Press Desk upon reasonable request.
The Client is solely responsible for the consequences of its Content, its communications strategy and the responses given to journalists. It shall indemnify Central Press Desk against third-party claims, judgments, damages and reasonable costs resulting from a breach of its commitments, provided that Central Press Desk promptly informs it of the claim and allows it to participate effectively in its defense.
10. Refusal, cancellation and refund
10.1 Refusal by Central Press Desk
If Central Press Desk permanently refuses a Press Release before any Distribution :
- the price of the undelivered Distribution is refunded within a maximum period of fourteen days
- the portion of the price corresponding to editorial review or writing already carried out remains due
- no refund is due where the refusal results from fraud, impersonation, the knowing provision of unlawful Content or a serious and deliberate breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
10.2 Cancellation requested by the Client
Before Distribution begins, the Client may request cancellation from its Account or via the contact form. Central Press Desk refunds the undelivered portion of the order, less any editorial services already carried out.
As soon as the Distribution begins, the service is deemed to have been irrevocably engaged and can no longer be cancelled or refunded, except in the event of non-performance attributable to Central Press Desk.
10.3 Lack of cooperation by the Client
If the Client does not provide the requested information, supporting documents or approvals within thirty days, Central Press Desk may close the order after sending a reminder. Any unused amount is converted into a credit valid for twelve months.
11. Prices, taxes, invoicing and payment
The applicable prices are those displayed at the time of the order. Unless otherwise stated, they are expressed in euros excluding tax.
The total price, applicable taxes and selected options appear in the summary before payment.
As of the date of this version, the website displays in particular:
- Professional Distribution: €490 excl. tax
- Expert proofreading: an additional €90 excl. tax
- Full drafting: an additional €290 excl. tax.
These prices may be changed for the future. A change does not affect an order already confirmed.
VAT is determined according to the location, the Client's taxable status and the applicable tax rules. The Client must provide a valid intra-Community VAT number when they have one. Where reverse charge or an exemption applies, the invoice bears the required wording.
Payment is due in full when the order is placed and is made by the methods offered on the Platform. It is processed by Stripe or Revolut, depending on the terms of that provider. Central Press Desk does not retain full bank card details, unless otherwise stated in the privacy policy.
An electronic invoice is made available or sent to the address provided by the Client. The Client agrees to receive invoices in electronic form.
In the event of rejection, abusive dispute or unjustified chargeback, Central Press Desk may suspend the Service and claim the sums due as well as the reasonable costs incurred, without prejudice to its other rights.
12. Nature of obligations and absence of guarantee of coverage
Central Press Desk is bound by an obligation of means in the performance of the Services.
Distribution guarantees the implementation of the means included in the offer, but does not guarantee in particular:
- that a Journalist will read the Press Release
- the publication of an article, wire or quotation
- the content, tone, date, duration of availability or referencing of any possible republication
- any volume of audience, traffic, prospects, sales or coverage
- republication by a media outlet, agency, portal, search engine or specific artificial intelligence system.
Media outlets, journalists, search engines, platforms and external partners remain free in their editorial, technical and commercial decisions. Their channels and criteria may change without the control of Central Press Desk.
The presence of media outlet or agency names or logos on the Platform describes an ecosystem or distribution possibilities and does not constitute a partnership, endorsement or guarantee of publication, unless expressly stated otherwise.
13. Licence to the Client Content
The Client retains its rights in its Content.
It grants Central Press Desk, worldwide and for the period necessary to provide the Service and archive the newsroom, a non-exclusive licence, assignable only to the technical providers and partners necessary for the Distribution, allowing the Content to be hosted, reproduced, formatted, technically adapted, translated if this option is ordered, indexed, published, communicated and distributed.
This licence is granted for no further remuneration other than the performance of the Service. Central Press Desk does not substantially alter the meaning of a validated Press Release without the Client's agreement, except for purely technical correction, security requirements or legal obligation.
Unless there is justified removal or agreement to the contrary, a Press Release published in the newsroom may remain accessible for archiving, referencing and information purposes. The Client may request its unpublication; such unpublication does not necessarily entail its removal from search engines, archives, media or third-party systems that have already republished it.
14. Intellectual property of Central Press Desk
The Platform, its structure, software, interfaces, databases, targeting methods, lists and information about journalists, editorial content, distinctive signs and graphic elements are protected by the applicable rights and remain the property of Central Press Desk or its licensors.
Subject to the User's mandatory rights, it is in particular forbidden to:
- copy, extract, scrape, sell, rent or reconstruct a journalist database or a database of journalist requests
- use a robot, scraper or unauthorized automated process to collect data
- bypass access limits, security measures or reception preferences
- carry out reverse engineering, except within the limits expressly permitted by law
- use the data obtained for mass solicitation or purposes unrelated to the professional purpose of the Service.
The Client acquires no direct right of access to or exploitation of the media contact database. Central Press Desk itself sends the communications according to the reception methods chosen by the recipients.
15. Use by journalists
Access reserved for journalists is intended for media professionals and may be subject to verification.
Journalists remain free to use or not use the information received, to carry out their own checks, to contact sources and to exercise their editorial independence. Central Press Desk imposes no obligation to publish.
Requests, topics or enquiries posted by journalists may not be reproduced, resold, aggregated or used for irrelevant solicitations. Any response must respect the subject, deadline and contact details indicated by the journalist.
16. Availability, maintenance and third-party services
Central Press Desk strives to ensure reasonable availability of the Platform. Interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates, security, technical incident or external event.
Central Press Desk may evolve the features provided that it does not deprive the Client of an essential element of an order already paid for. If a change makes performance of an order impossible, Central Press Desk proposes an equivalent solution, a credit note or a refund of the unperformed portion.
The Platform may contain links to or rely on third-party services. Central Press Desk is not responsible for the content, availability or decisions of these third parties, subject to its own obligations regarding selection, information and security.
17. Reporting unlawful content or content infringing rights
Any person may report Content they consider unlawful via the contact form by indicating:
1. the exact URL of the Content concerned
2. the specific reasons why such Content would be unlawful
3. the elements supporting the report
4. their name and email address, unless the law permits a report without identification
5. a declaration of good faith as to the accuracy of the information provided
Central Press Desk handles reports diligently, objectively and without arbitrariness. It may remove or disable Content, request additional information, preserve the elements necessary for evidence and cooperate with the competent authorities.
Where a measure affects the Content or Account of a User, Central Press Desk communicates the reasons and the available remedies to them to the extent required by law and compatible with third-party rights, security and ongoing investigations.
The User may contest a restriction decision within six months of being notified by writing via the contact form. The challenge is reviewed again by a person with appropriate authority and expertise.
18. Personal data
The processing of personal data carried out within the Platform is described in the Privacy Policy, accessible at: https://www.centralpressdesk.com/politique-confidentialite.
Each party complies with the data protection rules applicable to it. The Client is in particular responsible for the personal data it includes in a Press Release or transmits to Central Press Desk and ensures that it has a lawful basis and has provided the necessary information to the data subjects.
Where Central Press Desk processes personal data on behalf of the Client within the meaning of the applicable regulations, the parties conclude, where necessary, a data processing agreement compliant with Article 28 of the GDPR.
19. Confidentiality
Each party protects non-public information received from the other party and uses it only for the performance of the contract. This obligation does not apply to information that was already lawfully known, has become public without breach of these Terms, was lawfully received from a third party or must be disclosed pursuant to a legal obligation.
A Press Release intended for Distribution is not confidential from the start of its transmission, except for an embargo expressly accepted in writing. The Client must not upload confidential information that is not necessary for the service.
20. Central Press Desk liability
Central Press Desk is liable for direct and foreseeable damage caused by a proven breach of its obligations.
To the extent permitted by law, Central Press Desk is not liable for indirect damage, including loss of turnover, margin, customers, opportunity, image, data or expected savings, or for decisions made by journalists, media, platforms or other third parties.
Except in cases of wilful misconduct, gross negligence, harm to life or physical integrity, breach of an obligation that cannot legally be limited or any other mandatory liability case, Central Press Desk’s total liability under an order is capped at the amount excluding taxes actually paid for the order giving rise to the damage.
This article does not limit the remedies expressly provided for in Articles 10 and 16 in the event of non-performance of the Service.
21. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for a delay or failure to perform resulting from an event beyond its reasonable control, whose effects could not reasonably have been foreseen or avoided, including in particular a widespread internet outage, a major cyberattack, failure of an essential third-party network, a decision by an authority, a natural disaster, war, riot, epidemic or external labour dispute.
The affected party shall notify the other party within a reasonable time and shall endeavour to limit the effects. If the impediment continues for more than thirty days and makes performance of the order impossible, either party may terminate the affected part of the contract, and the unperformed services are then refunded.
22. Suspension and closure of the Account
The User may request closure of their Account, subject to completion or settlement of ongoing orders and applicable legal retention periods.
Central Press Desk may immediately suspend an Account in the event of security risk, suspected fraud, manifestly unlawful Content, harm to journalists or a serious breach of these Terms. Except in cases of urgency or legal prohibition, Central Press Desk informs the User of the reasons and allows them a reasonable opportunity to submit observations.
Central Press Desk may close an Account after formal notice has remained ineffective for fifteen days where a breach can be remedied. Clauses which, by their nature, must survive closure remain applicable, including those relating to payments, archive licences, liabilities, confidentiality and dispute resolution.
23. Evidence and electronic communications
Electronic records kept under reasonably secure conditions, including approvals, timestamps, connection logs, confirmations, exchanges and payment data, may be used to establish the operations carried out on the Platform.
Communications relating to the contract are sent to the email address associated with the Account. The Client must keep this address up to date and check messages regularly.
24. Amendment of the Terms
Central Press Desk may amend these Terms to reflect legal, technical or commercial developments.
The version applicable to a one-off order is the version accepted when that order was placed. Any subsequent amendment does not apply retroactively to a service already ordered, except where required by law.
For Ongoing Services, substantial changes are announced at least thirty days before they take effect, except in cases of legal or security urgency. If they adversely affect an essential element of the Service, the Client may terminate the Ongoing Service before they take effect.
25. General provisions
If any clause is declared void or unenforceable, the other clauses shall remain in force. The clause concerned shall be replaced, to the extent permitted, by a valid provision whose economic effect is closest.
The failure to exercise a right immediately does not constitute a waiver of that right.
The Client may not assign the contract without the prior written consent of Central Press Desk. Central Press Desk may assign it in the context of a restructuring, merger, transfer of business or intra-group transfer, provided that the Client’s rights are not substantially reduced.
In the event of any conflict, the special conditions expressly accepted shall prevail over these Terms, then the order summary, then these Terms.
26. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms and the contracts concluded through them are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, without prejudice to any mandatory rules that may apply.
Before any proceedings, the parties shall seek to resolve the dispute amicably. The Client shall submit its complaint via the contact form providing the order number and any useful information. Central Press Desk shall endeavour to respond within fifteen working days.
In the absence of an amicable agreement within thirty days following the complaint, the courts with jurisdiction over the registered office of LEGIVAL LTD shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory rules provide otherwise.
27. Acceptance
By ticking the acceptance box when placing the order or creating an Account, the User acknowledges having read, understood and accepted these Terms.
The date, time and version of the accepted Terms are retained together with the order or Account details.
